The Monterey Cultural Council met at Town Hall Thursday, October 21st at 4pm
Present: Maureen Banner, John Heffernan, Wendy Jensen, Kathryn Roberts, Kit Patten, and Lynne Leavitt
Barbara Swann, President of Monterey Historical Society met with the Council to discuss possible programs
we could jointly sponsor for the town. She suggested several films , speakers, and subjects to be explored,
and is a fund of information by herself. She and Lynne will explore these ideas, and hope to decide on e presentation in conjunction with our Council and the Bidwell House.
The majority of the meeting revolved around grant applications for this year. They were discussed in detail and voted on. Rejection letters, other replies, and final notifications required will be accomplished according to deadline dates.
Open Studio Tour will be Dec. 4th. Wendy is in charge of arrangements. Maps will be distributed at General Store this year, and all artists will exhibit in studio spaces. Hours are 10am-5pm.
There is an attempt to find a new meeting time because some members are working and cannot attend our currently scheduled one. Suggestion was made for Thurs. 3-5. Saturday is not possible for many members.
